Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Perth
Arrive in Perth, the capital of Western Australia. Transfer to your hotel and explore the city at leisure. Visit Kings Park for panoramic views, stroll by the Swan River, or enjoy a riverside dinner in Elizabeth Quay.
Day 2: Day Trip to Pinnacles Desert
Travel north to Nambung National Park to see the Pinnacles Desert, a surreal landscape of limestone spires rising from golden sands. En route, stop at Yanchep National Park to see koalas and kangaroos. Return to Perth for the evening.
Day 3: Perth to Kalbarri via Indian Ocean Drive
Depart Perth early and drive the scenic Indian Ocean Drive to Kalbarri National Park. Stop at Hutt Lagoon (Pink Lake) for photos. Reach Kalbarri by afternoon and enjoy the sunset over rugged coastal cliffs.
Day 4: Kalbarri National Park Exploration
Hike to Nature’s Window and Z-Bend Gorge inside Kalbarri National Park. Optional abseiling or river gorge kayaking. In the afternoon, explore the coastal rock formations such as Island Rock and Natural Bridge. Keep an eye out for peregrine falcons and echidnas.
Day 5: Drive to Monkey Mia (Shark Bay Region)
Head north to Monkey Mia, stopping at Shell Beach(composed entirely of tiny white shells) and Hamelin Pool Stromatolites - some of the world’s oldest living organisms. Arrive at Monkey Mia in time for sunset on the beach.
Day 6: Dolphin Interaction and Shark Bay Wildlife
Spend the morning interacting with wild dolphins that visit Monkey Mia’s shore daily. Then, take a wildlife cruise to spot dugongs, turtles, rays, and sea snakes in Shark Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit Francois Peron National Park in the afternoon for red cliffs, turquoise waters, and emus.
Day 7: Coral Bay and Ningaloo Reef Adventure
Travel to Coral Bay, the southern gateway to Ningaloo Reef. Snorkel straight from the beach into the reef, or join a glass-bottom boat tour. Optional activities include swimming with manta rays, reef shark encounters, or diving with whale sharks(seasonal: March to July).
Day 8: Return to Perth or Onward Travel
Take a scenic flight back to Perth or continue your adventure up the coast to Exmouth. Alternatively, extend your stay in Coral Bay for more time on the reef or fly to your next destination.
